Foreword
Welcome to the forty third in our series of weekly puzzles.
Elgar distributed a special puzzle at the recent Sloggers & Betters 7 meeting, and has kindly given permission for it to be reproduced here.
The meeting was attended by solvers of all the major cryptic crosswords, including the Guardian and the Independent as well as the Telegraph, so some of the names involved in the puzzle may not be familiar to everyone. Please read page 2 for some help with this.
