Three symmetrically-placed across lines pose a question. Your task is to answer it.
[Before submitting your answer, remember that Alchemi is a sneaky devil so you need to examine the grid very carefully]
Solvers should complete the answer box below with a single answer. There is no need to send a completed solution. Closing date for entries is midnight on February 15th 2014. The winner will receive a copy of The Telegraph Centenary Crossword Collection, kindly donated by Phil McNeill, the Telegraph Puzzles Editor, and signed by Phil and six of the Telegraph setters who are featured in the book (Elgar, Roger Squires/Rufus, Micawber, Peter Chamberlain/Cephas, Notabilis and Don Manley/Giovanni). All entries are confirmed by email. In the event of two or more entries being received from the same solver all of these entries will be disqualified, except that mistakes can be corrected by using the box below and clearly requesting that the earlier entry be withdrawn.
Please note that, due to punitive postal charges, while the competition is open to all, the prize is only available to UK solvers.

Feedback on puzzles is welcomed and will be passed on to setters. A review will be published after the closing date.
