Prize Puzzle – October 2014

Monthly Prize Puzzle No 29 (October 2014) by Radler

Seven across clues each lead to an answer that is too long and one letter must be omitted (always leaving a real word or words) before the answer is entered into the grid.
Those seven letters, in the order they occur, spell a word that is related to one of the other answers in the puzzle.  Provide both words to enter the competition.

Solvers should enter just their solution in the answer box below. There is no need to send a completed grid. Closing date for entries is midnight on October 18th 2014. The winner will receive their choice of any of the Telegraph Crossword Books published by Hamlyn. All entries are confirmed by email. In the event of two or more entries being received from the same solver all of these entries will be disqualified, except that mistakes can be corrected by using the box below and clearly requesting that the earlier entry be withdrawn.

Please note that, due to punitive postal charges, while the competition is open to all, the prize is only available to UK solvers.

To return to this page follow “Crosswords / Monthly Prize Puzzles – Index” from the main menu.

Feedback on puzzles is welcomed and will be passed on to setters. A review will be published after the closing date.
