The central letters of 24 solutions are the chemical symbols for 24 of the first 25 elements in the periodic table.  Each letter may be used in an across solution or a down solution, but not both.
What is the missing element?

Solvers should complete the answer box below with the name of the missing element.  There is no need to send a completed solution.  Closing date for entries is midnight on June 15th.  The winner will receive “The Daily Telegraph Cracking Cryptic Crosswords Collection” – four books of daily puzzles in a slipcase, kindly donated by Tilsit.

Please note that, due to punitive postal charges, while the competition is open to all, the prize is only available to UK solvers.

To return to this page follow “Crosswords / Monthly Prize Puzzles – Index” from the main menu.

Feedback on puzzles is welcomed and will be passed on to setters. A review will be published after the closing date.
